AI Transparency
Last updated: 7 July 2026
We believe you should know exactly where AI is (and isn't) involved in the tools you trust with your measurements. Here's the honest picture.
1. Your pattern blocks are not AI-generated
The pattern blocks Firstdraft.fit drafts from your measurements are produced by deterministic pattern-drafting algorithms: the same geometric methods a pattern cutter would use on paper, encoded in software. The same measurements always produce the same block. No machine-learning model guesses at your block, and no AI decides how your pattern should fit.
2. Where we do use AI
We use AI tools in building the product itself:
- Illustrations and artwork: some of the illustrations on the site, such as the measurement figures, were created with the help of AI image tools and then reviewed and refined by hand.
- Development: we use AI coding assistants to help build and review the software. All code is reviewed by a human before release.
- Written guidance: some instructional copy is drafted with AI assistance and edited by us for accuracy.
3. Your data is never used to train AI
Your body measurements, reference images, projects, and personal details are never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s. They are used only to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Future AI features
If we introduce features that use AI on your data (for example, automatic tagging of reference images), they will be clearly labelled, opt-in where they touch personal data, and this page will be updated before they launch.
5. Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know more about how a specific feature works, email us at hello@firstdraft.fit. We would genuinely rather over-explain than leave you guessing.
