Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 July 2026
Your measurements and creative work are personal. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it, in plain English.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Georgia Moses, trading as Firstdraft.fit is responsible for personal information collected through Firstdraft.fit. We are based in New Zealand and handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. Contact: hello@firstdraft.fit.
2. What we collect
We collect only what the Service needs to work:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
- Body measurements: the measurements you enter to generate pattern blocks. These are personal information and we treat them with particular care.
- Your content: reference images, project details, notes, and fabric choices you add.
- Technical information: essential cookies for login sessions, and basic server logs (IP address, browser type) for security.
- Waitlist information: your email address if you join the waitlist.
3. Why we collect it
- To provide the Service: generating blocks from your measurements, storing your projects and mood board.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
- To email you about your account: confirmations, password resets, important service changes.
- To email you product updates only if you opt in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
4. Where your information lives
Your information is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and our hosting provider Vercel. Their servers are located overseas, so your information is held outside New Zealand. Before disclosing information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by safeguards comparable to the Privacy Act 2020, as required by information privacy principle 12. Both providers operate under recognised international privacy and security frameworks.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
5. Your measurements
Your body measurements are used solely to draft your pattern blocks. They are never shown to other users, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. You can view, change, or delete them at any time from your account.
6. Community sharing (opt-in)
Reference images stay private by default. If you explicitly opt in to share an image with the community, it becomes visible to other users until you unshare or delete it. Your measurements and projects are never shared, regardless of this setting.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information, measurements, images and projects are deleted within 30 days, except minimal records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Waitlist emails are deleted once the waitlist is closed or on request.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies: authentication cookies that keep you logged in, and a preference remembering your cookie choice. Because these are strictly necessary, the Service cannot work without them.
With your permission, we also use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used, such as which pages are visited and which features are popular. Analytics only runs if you choose "Accept" on our cookie notice, and you can decline without losing any functionality. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics data is processed by Google and may be stored outside New Zealand; we use it only in aggregate to improve the product.
9. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information. We honour deletion requests for everything we are not legally required to keep.
- Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
10. Contact and changes
To exercise any right, email hello@firstdraft.fit and we will respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires.
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice before they take effect.
